StoryCompare is operated by SteezLabs LLC, a Georgia limited liability company, doing business as (d/b/a) StoryCompare.

StoryCompare relies on the Fair Use doctrine (17 U.S.C. § 107). We read news outlets' public RSS feeds and, where an outlet's terms and robots.txt rules allow it, the linked article, to identify what each outlet reported. Our pages carry original summaries and comparisons, with at most short attributed quotes. We do not republish articles, and we check each outlet's terms before we use its feed.

Every claim on this site is individually attributed to the specific outlet and article that made it, with a link to the original — we never present an unattributed generalization about what "the left" or "the right" says. If a claim can't be traced to a real, cited source, it's left out rather than published without attribution.

Requests identifying as StoryCompare/1.0 (+https://storycompare.com/legal#bot) come from StoryCompare. It reads the public RSS feeds of the news outlets we compare a few times a day. For a small number of outlets, it also fetches the linked article page.

We check each outlet's robots.txt rules and terms of use before adding a feed, and recheck them periodically. Our reader does not train AI models and does not republish articles.

Publishers who want us to stop reading a feed, or to discuss how we use it, can email help@storycompare.com.

StoryCompare provides AI-generated comparisons for informational purposes only. We make no representations as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any content. AI analysis may contain errors, omissions, or mischaracterizations. Neither StoryCompare nor its operators are liable for any decisions made based on content appearing on this site.

You are responsible for forming your own opinions. Read the primary sources. Consult multiple perspectives. Do your own research.

Each outlet's political-lean classification — the one used throughout this site to determine left/right eligibility and coverage grouping — comes from AllSides Media Bias Ratings (allsides.com/media-bias), a disclosed third party, not StoryCompare's own editorial opinion. For the few outlets AllSides doesn't rate, it comes from Media Bias/Fact Check (mediabiasfactcheck.com); each rating below links to its source.

Ad Fontes Media's (adfontesmedia.com) rating for each outlet is also shown below, for readers who want a second, independent reference point. It is shown for comparison only and is not used anywhere in StoryCompare's analysis — eligibility, divergence scoring, and left/right labeling are based on the ratings above alone. Where the two disagree, both are shown as-is, side by side, with no reconciliation between them. Ratings are reviewed and refreshed periodically; the date each rating was last checked is shown below.

StoryCompare is an ad-supported publication. Advertisers do not influence editorial decisions, source selection, AI prompts, or analysis output. No advertiser is permitted to appear in or alongside analysis about themselves or their competitors.

StoryCompare uses Google Analytics to understand traffic and improve the product (page views, referrers, general location, and device type). Google Analytics sets cookies and may use this data per Google's own privacy policy. As the site grows, StoryCompare may also work with advertising partners who use cookies to serve and measure ads; any such partner will be disclosed here when added. We do not sell user data directly. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser opt-out tool. By using this site you agree to our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy.

Newsletter signup. If you sign up for a StoryCompare email newsletter, we collect the email address you provide and which edition you chose (Daily Essentials, Daily Complete, or Weekly). That information is stored and processed by our email delivery provider, Resend (resend.com), not in StoryCompare's own database — see Resend's privacy policy for how they handle it. We use your email only to send the newsletter edition you selected; we do not sell or share it with advertisers or other third parties. Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link that removes you immediately. You can also switch editions or unsubscribe from all of them at any time on the newsletter page by entering your email address. Unsubscribe requests take effect immediately; by law we honor them within 10 business days at most.

Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common standard for how sites should respond, and StoryCompare does not currently change its behavior when it receives one. The Google Analytics opt-out above works regardless.

Children. StoryCompare is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has subscribed to the newsletter, email help@storycompare.com and we will delete the information.

Your choices. You can see and change the only personal information we hold (your email and chosen editions) on the newsletter page, or ask us to delete it by emailing help@storycompare.com. We do not sell personal information. This Privacy Policy was last updated on October 19, 2026; material changes will be posted here with a new date.
